We are now working to clean up "Birth Place".
In the UK & Ireland census, this is usually "Town, County" or "County, Town" or "Scotland" or "Ireland".
But variations occur - "Village, Town, County" or "Country" or "Town, Country" or "Area, City" or "Country, British Subject".
We are correcting spelling, ONLY WHERE NECESSARY for understanding/consistency, or where we have mis-transcribed them.
Examples: CAENARVONSHIRE, CAENAVONSHIRE, CAERNARVONSHIRE are all left as is,
Abegab becomes Abegab, (Burmah, India) - its historic location
Chapel en le frith, Chapel-en-le Frith both become Chapel-en-le-Frith (hyphens & capitals added)
CAMBELLTOWN & CAMBLETOWN are corrected to Campbeltown (if we are certain that was meant).
