Changes 2026

• The information for the immense SHACKLETON family, originating in Todmorden, has been enlarged further.
• In the light of new DNA information, we have radically changed our HEWITT family trees, and more changes are imminent

Changes 2025

• We have identified that "St John, Ardwick" and "St John, Deansgate" are the same place "St John, Byrom Street, Manchester".
  We have merged the records that referred to either name.
• We have updated the Thorp/Fox Families of Derwent in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire.


• We are adding to the Massey/Clark/Highfield Families, around Great Budworth.


• Many people have been added to the Penkethman Families of Lancashire.


• We are researching the Pearson families of Cheshire.


• We now show more entries in the "Location by Decade" display for each person.
  The Primary Birth & Primary Death will always show, together with Marriages, Census and selected other items.
  The "Short Place" format of the address is used. (2025-October).
  If this becomes more confusing, and less useful we will change this on the next release.


• We are slowly updating the Place Clarification pages.


• We suppress details of anyone who has died since 2020.


• As we come across people/records that we have not updated recently, we are "modernising" our records.
  This may lead to more information about these people becoming visible,
  or 1911/1921/1939 records appearing, or citations, or places being clarified.

Changes 2024

• Many more families related to the Bonsall family of Monyash, have been added.
  Also the related Bailey family information has been extended.
  Both these families have many descendants in the USA.


• Many images have been added to people, events and places.


• We can not currently link John Massey (1760-) and his descendants to our other Massey families,
  so we have linked them into a separate MASSEY-L tree.
• Also we have a partial unlinked tree for John Massey (1804-) and his descendants, at MASSEY-U.

Details of activities in earlier years is suppressed.

• We exclude from our website anyone that (maybe) alive, and certain family "twigs".


• There are 13268 individuals in our database, our main website now shows 12163 people.


• 344 of these are identified as ancestors, including 163 "Brick walls".


• There are 4504 relatives - descendants of ancestors,
  and 6600 people related by marriage - spouses of relatives & their ancestors, descendants & spouses.


• The remaining 715 people, include boarders, lodgers, employers, employees, servants, visitors,
  and 249 people not classified.
